Will & Jane - Everyone’s Mad
“When I said that, I really meant that I didn’t want to talk about myself anymore,” she grinned. “And obviously, if you’re here, your life isn’t a light topic. Even if you’re just here to make sure you’re stable.” She realized what she had just said. “Oh god, sorry, that was rude.”
“But a teacher for the FBI? Sounds interesting.”
“I know.” It had been fairly obvious. Written out in plain sight for the empathetic man. He wasn’t fond of being able to read people like books. It usually brought more harm than good.
“I-it’s fine.” Another attempt at a smile. “I know I’m not a ray of sunshine. Not really in my profile.” A small shrug was given before he continued talking. “I suppose. Look at dead people for a living. Teach people how to find the people who killed them. That sort of thing.”
“I find that extremely interesting. I’ve always wanted to do something like that, which sounds horribly grim, but it’s completely true. When I was fifteen, I would sneak into crime scenes and everything. But then I guessed I had to be a good person to get a career in that field, so that was out,” she joked with a smile.
“We should switch jobs for a day,” she joked. “I’ll go work for the FBI and you can sit on a couch all day.”
u lil shits this isn’t real

Severed ties all together. I kind of decided that it wasn’t worth even trying to get close to him since he was so terrible to me the first two times, and since the rest of my family was already dead. I’ve basically claimed myself an orphan and become independent.
How long have you been living alone? It must have been hard trying to find a job and a place to stay.
Um, since ‘07. I was seventeen. I couldn’t stand to stay there anymore. I had been saving up money to buy my own car, but I got an apartment instead.

Will & Jane - Everyone’s Mad
“I’ll think about it.” Jane knew she would already go see the doctor and ask for bandages as soon as they were finished talking. She usually wouldn’t if she was talking to anyone else, but there was something about Will that Jane liked.
“So let’s get off such a dark topic. Tell me about yourself, Will. If you want to, that is.”
Will couldn’t help the laugh that resonated out of his chest. “I’m afraid to disappoint you but, talking about myself isn’t any lighter of a topic.” Which was very true, for a man who looked at murder scenes on a daily basis and taught people how to catch killers based off what is seen there. That’s certainly sunny and cheery.
“I.. do work for the FBI.” Not that it was a secret, with him teaching or being a special investigator. “Teacher, actually.” Why not go with the tame one. He didn’t want to get in on the murders he saw or have the details squeezed out of him. Doubtful he was even supposed to be sharing this information.

“No, you were being honest, and I would appreciate it if you kept being honest with me, no matter how rude it sounds. I know my methods of treating myself are no where near healthy, but, no one’s ever told the consequences of the stupid decisions I make.” She paused for a moment, pushing her hair behind her ears. Jane knew he probably thought she was idiotic for doing this to herself, but it wasn’t a choice she had made. It was rule. And of course, she was working on it.
“Hardly ever and never are very different statements, and that’s what worries me.” She mumbled, biting her lip. He probably thought she was completely mental.
That wasn’t the reaction he usually got. He wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Usually he was off in his room again and trying to forget what he’d just said to someone. It left him feeling out of place. Well, more so than he already did. His hands worked their way back into his pockets.
“This is true. I can’t say it never works. I know where I stand in the world, I just apparently need someone to ‘certify’ that I’m able to work.” He shrugged. “Make sure I’m stable, as we talked about.” He cleared his throat slightly. ”But really, you should cover them. Much quicker and less painful ways to die than infection.”
“I’ll think about it.” Jane knew she would already go see the doctor and ask for bandages as soon as they were finished talking. She usually wouldn’t if she was talking to anyone else, but there was something about Will that Jane liked.

“No, I’m not going to keep them covered. Not to sound rude to what you said, obviously, but it’s bad enough that they put the stitches in without my consent. I was tried to kill myself, I have to face the consequences of what I’ve done. They didn’t seem to understand that.” She looked at her feet and began to lightly tap the wall.
“See, this is what I do. I talk about my problems then diagnose myself with craziness even though it’s my biggest fear.”
“Yes because infection and possible arm amputation is the better alternative. You certainly have a way of punishing yourself.” He stopped and cleared his throat. “I’m… I’m sorry I don’t mean that.” Well he did, but it wasn’t socially acceptable to say those things. He wasn’t trying to be rude, it was just the actuality of what was happening. At least a potential.
He gave a small smirk, unable to help the irony of the psychiatrist being kept in a place like this. Not that it was uncommon. “Self diagnosis is hardly ever accurate. I do it myself, so I understand how you feel.”
She watched him try to take himself out of the trained posture, and she smiled slightly.
“Well I’m very sure that you’re not batshit crazy like some of the people here, so congratulations, Will. You did it.” Jane laughed. “And if you are, you’re very good at pretending you’re not. And since you told me why you’re here, I’ll tell you why I’m here, but I bet you’ve already guessed, but I’ve got to practice saying it and not freaking out.
“Um, so I tried to kill myself two days ago. A slash on each wrist, but my landlord, she found me, she was checking on me because she’s old and caring, and she found me. They won’t even let you die in peace anymore, y’know? Doesn’t matter if you kill yourself or someone does it for you, you can’t die if you want to, and your body’s going to be dragged and cut and thrown and wheeled wherever some idiot may please and you have no consent.” She rolled up her sleeves, showing the stitched wounds on her forearms. They were still swollen and red, and were supposed to have bandages on them, but she preferred not. “So if either of us is crazy, I’m going with me.”
“Some would disagree with you.” It was muttered as a thought mostly to himself. It would only be clear that he said something, but beyond a few key words it would have been difficult to decipher. He had already guessed the main reason why she was there, but he’d indulge her and listen.
Will was quiet and glanced up now and again. He had never been good at eye contact. Eyes are far too distracting. However he was paying attention. “You know… you should keep them covered. Just to avoid infection.” Well good job Will. Because lord knows she wanted advice right now. He’d give a small shrug over either of them being crazy “It’s all relative really.”
“No, I’m not going to keep them covered. Not to sound rude to what you said, obviously, but it’s bad enough that they put the stitches in without my consent. Although I hated her, I kind of wish I did. Not because I liked or anything, but I needed that figure in my life and I still do. I know I would’ve been ripped to shreds if I had been any closer to my mother when she died, but I can’t help but wonder how my life would’ve turned out if I had tried to get along with her.
It must have been very difficult for you. Have you talked to your father recently about your brothers passing? Or have you severed ties with him all together?
Severed ties all together. I kind of decided that it wasn’t worth even trying to get close to him since he was so terrible to me the first two times, and since the rest of my family was already dead. I’ve basically claimed myself an orphan and become independent.

He did take care of me the most. And, well, she loved him. She loved her little angel boy. She thought he was God descended from Heaven or something. I mean, she didn’t care if I was in the hospital on life support, but Dean had prom that night, so she didn’t show up.
Were you ever jealous of your brother and mother’s relationship?
Did you ever wish you were the one that had the better relationship with your mother instead of your brother?

He tried to hurt my brother, but Dean wouldn’t stand for it. He fought back. And my mum, well, she didn’t like anyone but herself. She didn’t abuse me physically, but verbally.
So you were especially close to your brother then. Did he take care of you the most? How was his relationship with your mother?
He did take care of me the most. And, well, she loved him. She loved her little angel boy. She thought he was God descended from Heaven or something. I mean, she didn’t care if I was in the hospital on life support, but Dean had prom that night, so she didn’t show up.

I'm nothing special.
